The Replacement.

Alright.. So in my Creative Writing class we were given an assignment... We were to go over a poem called "The replacement" and afterwards, we were to rip it off.. Sort of like THe Nymphs Reply did to The Passionate Shepherd... Cant remember poets name atm...

anyway... here...

The Replacement- Inspired Piece.

And across the screen i know
they are replacing my sister's brain
With the brain of a whore;

One song, one dance, one advert at a time with deadly images
thgey are teaching her to arch her hips
towards testosterone, to Part her lips
as if a "Secret" she holds, and make his eyes
reflective as a piece of tin.

It's a sort of cooking, the female child undergoes;
to sexify her, she is shown repeatedly
images of the nude, lewd, belly,
ass, tits- until she glazes over
and morality slams into a heart of lust, ignorance, naivaty.

Then she walks out into the street,
ready for a bit of cat and mouse
deluded by her organs
arrogant, unaware of the dangers of it all.

But I'm not there
and their is nothing i can do to stop it
And would i if i could?
Dear God i hope so,
What is a woman? if society fails
socially inept she shall be
like an amish.

If they succeed, she may become
Something God awful, devoid of love.

Already the photograpgh i have of her is out of date
but in it she is laughing by the tree
eyes sparkling, full of life, love, joy, her mind filled with little girl thoughts, her body unmolested.

Goofy, proud, shy she's smiling at the camera
as if she were under the illusion
that someone loved her so well that they would not ever ever ever
let the world at her.
